This house is four months old and DR Horton Warranty wants to blame this poor constructed fence on a thunderstorm. No poles at the corners! Held upward past nails. Posts were installed in sand and not deep enough. Wrong spacing, posts can't hold the weight of the debate! Oh, and rotted wood that they stained over! The warranty managing director lied to me about the weather causing the damage and said the posts were scheduled 40 posts. He walked off without a word when I called him out on it. Area manager did the same thing. The contractor admitted that they rush to close and subcontracted the contend out, didn't dig deep enough on the posts but yet wanted to accuse me $2000 for half of the fence. The fashion I was treated was anything just professional person once I complained about the fence. Look at the pictures and see for yourself. Rotted wood stained over! Shame on DR Horton for these poorly built houses and incompetent subcontractors.

I am writing this review after iv years of ownership in a D.R. Horton home which nosotros purchased as new construction. This is the fourth home I have purchased, all from different builders and so I have seen and experienced many positives and negatives... I can say with consummate certainty this D.R. Horton experience has been the worst. This home is located in the Horse Creek Ridge community in Fallbrook, CA and was constructed between December 2017 and February 2018 equally stage 2. It is no wonder there are 2 awaiting Class Activity Lawsuits in our community of 770 homes, and multiple like lawsuits nationwide. If you desire to buy a home with them, best of luck equally you're rolling the dice. I have seen some quality homes in our customs, and I am happy for those lucky families... Nosotros only aren't i of them and D.R. Horton has washed their best to maximize profits through skimping on follow-thru with the people paying their bills.
In a nutshell, D.R.Horton customer service representatives, managers and executives have shirked their professional responsibilities and passed the failures of their construction teams on to the homeowners in our community. They take yet to accept any accountability for substandard structure, poor stop quality, and negligence on the part of subcontractors. With this build team, at that place is always someone else to arraign... even though the name D.R.Horton is at the summit of the contract and the first one to be paid. His boss, who is a VP of Customer Service, has backed upwardly her team (which is kind of admirable from a leadership attribute, but terrible considering she is non holding them accountable or improving their customer's home-buying experience). Once more, not a single time has anyone from D.R. Horton uttered the words "I am deplorable you lot continue to take issues with your dwelling. Only they have embraced the customer is always wrong stance and backed it upward throughout their customer service squad.

As stated in other reviews, during initial walk-throughs they removed tags without correcting the issues and after multiple failed attempts for a fix, the customer service rep would say "I promise I will come up dorsum" which certainly did not happen since D.R. Horton corporate overwhelms them then doubles down on failure by putting unprofessional reps in place. I am happy to hear from someone at D.R.Horton corporate who is willing to talk over my experiences....

I am not a person who likes to write bad reviews. All the same I feel this needs to be shared with all future buyers. This starter home does not come up with bath accessories such as towel holders or toilet paper dispensers, something I feel that all homes should at least have at least for the price that was paid. This firm also does not come up with a garage opener, this had to exist installed separately. Which was very shocking to me. The habitation did not come with a fridge either. I approximate due to the pandemic this is the new normal.
In regards to the HOA just to submit a asking y'all need to include a 50.00 check which I feel is criminal. I take to pay for an HOA fee but I tin can't decide what to have in my lawn. I am non able to have a shed or pergola just I am expected to have a lawnmower to maintain my backyard. The garage barely fits both of my vehicles. I would make sure to practice your research very carefully in what is included in your abode. I made the mistake and I just assumed. Hope this helps.

Me and my wife bought our "dream home" in south California back in 2015. Starting time time buyers thinking that making an extra effort of purchase new would compensate In long term as home should non demand repairs for a good time. Well. We learn the bad way that this builders purchase cheap materials and because they produce in mass, item are not their strength. After five years of living in the firm (only me and my wife), garage door broke, doors failed off, toilets broke, pipes nether shower, walls cracked.. I know they do an amazing task dressing the domicile and making it appealing. But be careful.. it'south mass product and so don't expect a life long product. Don't be like us.

Just yep, 60 days after my initial application, I was being told that they could not exercise my loan, merely they would transfer my file over to another mortgage company, who they piece of work closely with and that they "should be able to brand information technology work." After applying with that company (and having my credit pulled again), I was told that the virtually they could corroborate me for was $385-$390k.
DR Horton chop-chop sent me forms to sign acknowledging termination of my contract. They agreed to render my earnest coin in the amount of $2,500 but retain my option money of $4,737!!!! Why???? Someone obviously dropped the brawl at their lending company, so why should I be out over $4,000???? I am a hardworking, unmarried parent who merely set out to fulfill the dream of homeownership for myself and my child. DR Horton is a multi million dollar company that will accept no problem selling that dwelling. It will most likely exist sold for much more than than what they were selling for at the time my contract was written. It's unfortunate, but I had read how horrible this company is and how they care nothing well-nigh buyers/potential buyers. Foolish of me for thinking that my experience would be different. Now I accept to fight for my hard earned coin, while getting back to foursquare ane with house hunting in this crazy real manor market.

I promise this help other buyers, my experience in particular is with the South Florida (Homestead specifically) where D.R Horton is building several communities. Went in that location to look at the unlike models (already pre-qualified for $600k) and fix to buy a abode through a VA loan (I'm a veteran of USMC and USN). So for those who know, no downward payment is 1 of the advantages of doing a VA. And then the result basically was the seller (D.R. Horton) tells united states the rules changed only the Friday before nosotros went there (03.18.22) to where VA loan holders have to pay now $10k, simply that the funds would be applied to the endmost costs and any excess would be returned (mind you lot this information was nowhere in the draft contract we received and then smash! some other reddish flag).
And then basically we tell the seller that nosotros were not expecting to pay annihilation similar that (VA loan - no down-payment and all that) but that nosotros were willing to work with them and provide $5k and allow us for two weeks to get the rest from our 401k, nevermind the fact that nosotros were over-qualified to put information technology lightly equally the property was only $407k and never refused the terms just asked for a two week catamenia to go the money (the closing date was 2 months from this date then non certain why they fabricated such an result about it). As a final result nosotros got denied proverb that if we didn't have the money then we couldn't go on. Sad to come across where this world is going, y'all serve the country, wear the uniform and when you endeavor to accept advantage of the lilliputian benefits of it, get shutdown because corporations like these are money hungry. Thanks for nothing D.R. Horton. Yous lost our business due to not-sense. Skilful riddance!

I purchased my home in June of 2021. We moved out of country to what was supposed to be our dream domicile. We had a list of issues a mile long during our walk-through that were still apparent during our final walk through. Nevertheless, on our final walk-through list they only wrote down four items. The other items we listed that I had wrote downward were simply verbal acknowledgements from the superintendent that he would complete them. That was my showtime mistake taking his words at face value. First of all, my forepart and back doors were dented and installed with the wrong swing, A point in which he argued with me until we pulled the blueprints to our house. The front door was corrected but the back door is nevertheless wrong. My electric was not wired correctly co-ordinate to the blueprints and had to be moved and rewired on a couple different occasions.
The contractor for the electric dropped his tools on my floor and ripped it but DR Horton will not repair it considering it is non covered under our warranty. I too have had to have the floors cleaned 2 times professionally because of the corporeality of paint that was left on my floors. They advised me that this was the worse instance of pigment beingness left on the floors that they had seen in a home. The Superintendent promised me this would be done before we moved in since the whole house had to be cleaned. Nonetheless, it took 4 months to become them to do information technology and it still was only washed halfway because the vendor did not want to move the furniture. I still have paint on my floors. This was supposed to be luxury vinyl installed in my home merely It is the cheapest and thinnest vinyl I have ever seen and has ripped in several rooms in my abode and they volition not cover or replace it even though I am still in my warranty stage.
They do non take the time to complete task in full and it shows. All my door knobs fell off three months into us living here including the front door as we were opening it. The hinge pins in the doors were not put in all the way. My cabinets while being installed were dropped and damaged simply they hung them anyway in hopes that I would not notice. They came to supercede them 8 months later I got a new cabinet just 1 not the 2 that I needed. It was also damaged in which they took touch up paint that didn't match to try to repair it. I had light switches where in that location should not have been and the switches I had were wired incorrectly. They came out to repair them and afterward the lights would flicker and then shocked the tech when he took the cover off to repair them once again. We had to purchase our own weather stripping to go on our doors because there was none put on our doors before closing.
I still take a pigsty in my siding outside my house where the wires come in for the electric, cable etc. and I am awaiting a box to cover those wires to be installed. I as well have principal h2o pex line exposed on the outside of my business firm coming into the house. My sidewalk in the front of my domicile has sunk in and then much from the rain runoff where there were no gutters installed that I had to accept $3600.00 in gutters put on myself to save the foundation integrity of my home from existence damaged anymore in which they still have non fixed and or reimbursed for that nor will they. My property is non completely finished and when they sodded I take 2 different grades in my m that do not meet upwardly because once again they were in a bustle.
Besides instead of trimming the copse in the back they ripped upwards all of them and ruined the landscape work we had already created in the back and now information technology is just an uneven dirty mess that looks horrible and they have no plans to repair that. When I file a warranty claim it takes months to get a response or go anything done if they even begin. When they do come up out to set up it the work done is no better than when they originally started in some cases. I notwithstanding have bug with my AC unit of measurement that accept non been repaired fully. I tin can go on and on but I am just wasting my breath. I would never buy another home from DR Horton and I do not suggest anyone else do it either unless you want a nightmare of endless excuses why they can't assistance you lot.
